Make sure that you know specifically what coverage you are giving up before enrolling in a low cost health insurance plan. As long as a plan is fully insured and the agent is also licensed and insured, then it is OK to save money by choosing a plan that eliminates coverage that you do not need. For example, if you don’t need maternity coverage or pre-existing condition coverage, then it is safe to buy a plan that costs only half as much as a health plan that does include this coverage. Novak emphasizes that these buying guidelines apply to residents of all states, not just Connecticut.

  • I want to file a complaint about two health insurances.?   I went on the Internet to try to get health insurance, this company called alliance for affordable service called me and told me that my percriptions would only cost in the neigbor hood of - to &50 dollars. I spoke to my Dr. and he told me that there was none of my medicines that he could change to the lower prices. I contacked the company and told them what the Dr. told me. I asked for my money back, they told me to send a letter, which I did. They sent me one back aqnd told me that they would not give me my money back. I dropped the insurance. I contacked another insurance on the internet. They called me. I sepicifity asked if they covered preexisting conditions and he asked did I mean, I told he that the Dr. wanted to do surgery on me left foot. He told me that it would cover any preexisting preplanned surgeries. The Dr. office called them and they told her that they would not cover any suegery inpatient or out. This company was Sure Care.

  • Does anyone know where I can find good, and affordable health coverage?   I have a family of 5 in Tx, and we make decent money but don't have the resources for a group plan. We have to pay 0-0 per month just in regular medical coverage. We are all healthly but, everytime my children get sick it's + per visit.. Are there any websites or known insurance agencies that provide any coverage cheap, and good coverage. Thanks a billion.. good night my husband is contract so group is not offered, and I am 1099.. so the same..
    • I use Aetna, but then again I live in Pennsylvania. It may be different in your area, but you can check alot about different insurances at einsurance.com.
    • I am in Texas, too.....do you or your husband not work for a company that has to offer insurance?? You should never have to pay more than 20.00 for a co-pay?? Surely one of you can get into group coverage of some kind. ANY individual policy bought will always be soooo expensive. I know people who work 20 hours a week at Starbucks just to get the insurance that is so affordable offered by Starbucks.....let me hear from you if you can't get it worked out........you need to be careful also which company you pick.....for example...Humana is hated by hospitals
  • In a health insurance policy what does it mean about X amount $ for a deductible?   Also any suggestions on any other good yet affordable policies? I am looking at one from work copay 0 deductible but I had better with a prior company. Also I would like dental,on this plan dental is extra at .The policy is Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama.
    • It's sad to say, but a lot of employers in this country are going with the higher deductible plans because it is cheaper for them, more expensive for us. I had a ,000 deductible for prenatal care and needless to say I switched to another company. Good luck finding a good insurance company with low deductibles.
    • 0 deductible means once a year you have to pay the first 0 in medical bills you accumulate. You also still have to pay the copay at time of visit. Your insurance won't pay anything until you have hit the 0. You may also want to see if you are responsible for any percentage of the charges even after the 0 deductible is met. Most plans only pay doctors a certain percentage of charges and the insured has to pay the remainder. This is referred to as coinsurance. This may not be a bad plan depending on the monthly premium and if you are responsible for a percentage or not. I hope this helps I don't have an answer for the 2nd question.
