Moving from Hawaii (Oahu) to mainland US - Need Advice - Where to go and how? My family & I are are seriously considering moving to the mainland US states. We're unable to afford the increasing living costs here and there is a lack of specialized medical care for the condition one of us is suffering from. Day to day we are struggling to survive financially and relying on friends and family help to get by. Our combined monthly income is about 00. There are three of us, including me, all adults. I have lived on Oahu my whole life so I know nothing about the mainland. Despite net searches, I have no clue where to start looking or where to go or how to relocate. I also do not know how life on Oahu differs from life in the mainland US states. - I live on Oahu too. Where on Oahu are you? I'm sorry you feel you have to leave the aloha state. Texas is great place to live. It is a diverse state with a lot of people of different ethnic backgrounds and plenty of job opportunities.

Low crime- you can live out side a large city like Cleveland Ohio and drive into the city for things. Life in Hawaii should be like like in the usa because it is apart of the usa. As for low crime rate, If you look up the fbi report on the fbi.org for city crime rate. There always good jobs in the north area.
