 Medical health insurance

Health insurance companies argue that those people seeking health insurance are often those with existing medical problems, those who are much more likely to have medical health insurance problems in the future and those who may engage in "risky behaviour" such as excessive alcohol consumption and smoking.Products such as health insurance tend to fuel fiery debates of the moral argument of health insurance costs and the question that if people pay for health insurance, are they more likely to lead a "risky" lifestyle in the knowledge that they are covered.Travel insurance Travel insurance isn't complicated, but there are a few considerations you should bear in mind.Travel insurance typically covers issues such as cancellation, loss of baggage and medical expenses.

  • is health care equal to medical insurance? and wt does medical insurance do? should i get one?
    • for sure you should get one
    • Healthcare would be the care you receive for any medical attention needs one would have. Health Insurance aka medical insurance offers you pre-negotiated rates(ppo) or pre--paid services (HMO) for medical attention you receive, this pays for medical attention but is not the attention itself. In America some plans offer both, Kaiser Permanente owns its healthcare plan and offers health insurance plans, as they actually employee doctors and own hospitals, under its Foundation. Whereas in comparison Blue Shield/ Blue Cross type of insurance co's do not employee physicians or own hospitals, they contract with these entities and pay them for services. Should you get one? Absolutely, yes a good health plan should be obtained by every single american, several ways to obtain it- freee social services if you have children check with MedICal and social services in your area, if you are employed check with your employer, and if you are self employed I would suggest you do research on PPO - HMO - HSA type plans, and pick one that fits your lifestyle. • In Penn, does anyone know if the medical insurance , UPMC ( Former Best Health ) any good ?   I CURRENTLY HAVE GATEWAY , ITS VERY SIMILAR ? THERE'S OTHER ONES LIKE UNISON ( MEDPLUS)?
    • From what I can gather, Gateway and Unison are both government sponsored medical assistance program and UPMC is a private health plan. UPMC health plans were included in US News & World Report?s Best Health Plans issue, and the plans are from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (hence the UPMC). These plans do appear to be highly rated, and the UPMC is a highly regarded medical facility ? it was ranked 14th in the nation by US News & World Reports. You can check out UPMC plans here: If you want to compare their plans with other Pennsylvania plans, try MostChoice.com. You can view information on multiple plans and talk with insurance representatives without any obligation. You can find MostChoice here: Hope this helps, Barnes@MostChoice
  • Medical insurance alternatives?   My situation is very complicated. My girlfriend of almost 3 years cohabitates with me and we have a child. She cannot apply for RI state health insurance because of my income, and she cannot be placed under my company's health plan unless I declare common-law marriage (It's honored in RI). However, I do not think it is a good idea to force myself into a common-law marriage commitment (meaning to be legally married... and I certainly don't want that right now, given our relationship at the moment) just so my girlfriend can get insurance... but she really needs it. Is there anything else that she can apply for or do I have to bite the bullet?
    • You will have to bite the bullet. If it's worth living with her, it's worth being married. If it's not worth being married, you shouldn't be living with her.
    • Check out carecredit.com. It is not health insurance, but many physicians do accept it as a form of payment. Care Credit pays the doctor and you pay Care Credit in very reasonable monthly payments. It's based on your credit, but you can have a co-signer. Check it out to see if there are enough physicians in your area who accept it to make it worth applying. Best of luck to you!
